These days, Brad Hompe can be found working as a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC). That said, on the way to that position, Brad Hompe took many years and gained experience in many positions on the way. He has an enviable record with his high level of experience with the proper operation of jails and prisons. By this time, after so many years, Brad has worked at virtually every level of the corrections system, including time as a prison staff employee and a jail inspector, in addition to being an instructor and trainer.
It is no exaggeration to say that Brad Hompe has done nearly everything at WI-DOC at one time or another. He was a prison warden at one point, but before that, he managed to work his way up the management ladder, stopping at every step along the way. He started as a corrections officer and was soon promoted to sergeant, then lieutenant, and then captain. Soon after that, he became a unit manager and deputy warden before rising to the rank of warden.
In addition to his experience, Brad Hompe also made sure he had an impressive education. Following high school, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice and psychology from Winona State University in Minnesota and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Later on, he worked hard to gain several certifications in law enforcement and another as a firefighter, which he received from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, Wisconsin.
